The credit goes to the former Vice Chancellor Dr. P. L. Chaturvedi. He accorded top priority to building of a separate unit as Academic Staff College in the campus. It is fully air-conditioned and well-equipped with modern facilities. Efforts are being made to have its own computer lab very shortly, with the UGC aid. Its first director was Prof. Tej Kumar Mathur.
The first refresher course under ASC was organized on 17th August 2000. Till date 36 refresher courses and four orientation courses are held.
